Street Fighter 6 is getting ready to close out its third season of DLC content with Ingrid on the way in the near future, but we may now already know who is coming after her.
A potential leak of Street Fighter 6’s Season 4 character roster has appeared online from a previously credible source, and it includes a crossover with a Final Fantasy fan-favorite.
Obviously, there’s going to be some potential major spoilers ahead for the future of Street Fighter 6’s upcoming content.
The alleged leak came from a now-deleted Reddit post from RnK_Clan revealing that Season 4 will again be made up of four characters.
And those fighters are Vega, Gouken, Final Fight’s Mike Haggar and Tifa Lockhart from Final Fantasy 7.
The RnK_Clan may sound familiar as the people who correctly leaked the Season 2 DLC for Street Fighter 6 of M. Bison, Terry Bogard, Mai Shiranui and Elena.
The RnK_Clan also leaked some Season 3 details to us previously as well.
RnK Lucius has had a reliable reputation up to this point that seems to clearly indicate some insider knowledge of what’s going on at Capcom for Street Fighter.
They’ve apparently also been hinting at these four new characters going back to at least November of last year according to Ryce on Resetera though RnK_Clan has hidden their comments on Reddit.
On top of that, Rooflemonger has released a new video discussing the apparent leak, and he too says he’s heard about Tifa from multiple sources though not this exact lineup.
He claims to have heard Tifa and Vega’s names months ago, but two other characters as well that were not Gouken and Haggar while not revealing who those were — so there’s some corroborating and some conflicting evidence here.
This is going to be big if true considering Tifa would mark the first non-fighting game crossover character in Street Fighter that wasn’t from Final Fight where we’d previously gotten Cody, Guy and Lucia.
While Terry and Mai fit into the Street Fighter world fairly easily, Tifa would certainly stand out a lot more, but Capcom may have an easy solution to explain her crossing over.
In her teaser, Ingrid was shown to literally open a door to another world / dimension, so any future guest appearances may be connected to her abilities.
Tekken fans had been strongly requesting Tifa’s inclusion in the 3D fighter for years, but it seems Street Fighter may have beaten them to the punch.
Vega’s return was heavily hinted at / foreshadowed in M. Bison’s story in Street Fighter 6 where he is shown picking up his mask and claw once again with the revival of his boss.
Mike Haggar is also an interesting choice for his Street Fighter debut here considering he should be very old by the time this game’s story takes place.
He had already retired as mayor of Metro City in Street Fighter 5 and passed that torch over to Cody, so we’ll have to see what would bring him back into the action now.
There had been questions as to whether Haggar was even alive considering he has a memorial bronze statue and stadium in his honor in Metro City now, but Director Takayuki Nakayama did state a few years ago that he is still indeed kicking.
He’s alive and well😀

And then we have Ryu and Ken’s master, who previously only appeared as a playable character in Street Fighter 4.
Gouken would also be much older by the time Street Fighter 6 takes place though his younger brother Akuma certainly never stopped battling, so it wouldn’t be all that surprising if he’s still active too.
Besides Vega, these would be some very unexpected picks from what many fans were likely hoping for, so we’re intrigued by Capcom’s vision for the game’s next year if this leak does ring true.
That leaves popular fighters like Sakura, Makoto, Dudley, Rose, Menat, and many others sitting on the sidelines once again.
This could also mark Tifa’s return to an official fighting game for the first time in almost three decades since Ehrgeiz: God Bless the Ring in 1998 (unless you count the Dissidia Final Fantasy games), which also featured the other major Final Fantasy 7 characters.
Cloud Strife and Sephiroth had already appeared in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate while Tekken 7 received Noctis Lucis Caelum from Final Fantasy 15 and then Tekken 8 more recently went with Clive Rosfield from Final Fantasy 16, so Square Enix is certainly open to giving out their big characters to other fighting games.
Despite the leak’s apparently credible source, however, it is still very important to take all of this with a grain of salt considering none of this has been confirmed — and the original post was deleted too for an unknown reason.
Their track record has been on point in the past, so we’ll see if that is indeed still the case.
With Ingrid set to release later this Spring, we probably won’t be hearing more of what comes next for a few months still.
Going by the past years, though, Capcom should be officially announcing Street Fighter 6 Season 4 in June or maybe July, so we’ll find out then if this leak is legit or not.
