Rant Gaming, in association with Cor3, has unveiled Fragmentary Order, long dubbed ‘Escape from Tarkov in space.’ Over the last few months, Nikita Buyanov, the head of the studio at Battlestate Games, has been teasing a link to Cor3, a mysterious entity tied to a cryptic ARG, a puzzling universe, and a sci-fi theme that many thought would be his next game.
Today’s announcement, which went hand-in-hand with a seven-minute CGI trailer, uncovered Fragmentary Order, a realistic, hardcore, sci-fi multiplayer FPS ‘exploring tactical simulation, survival, and risk.’
But from what we know, it seems like a more complicated way to describe an extraction shooter in space.
What is Fragmentary Order?
Rant Gaming has officially revealed Fragmentary Order after months of puzzles, teasers, and world-building. In a new press release, the game’s gist was detailed:
Set in the year 2251, Fragmentary Order takes place in a future shaped by the rise of Core – a powerful organization that once saved humanity from collapse and unified a fractured world under a single technological and economic system.
Over the following centuries, Core led humanity into a new era: colonization of the Solar System, advanced biotech, and the creation of CORIE – a global framework where everything, including warfare, is structured, monetized, and controlled.
But control is no longer absolute.
As influence fractures and new powers emerge, conflict returns – not as chaos, but as industry.
Players take the role of a ‘Replicated Entity’, deploying clone assets remotely into battlefields spread around the solar system. They’ll control their constructs from the safety of a bunker, carrying out contracts, scavenging resources, and (hopefully) surviving fights.
The gameplay loop is reminiscent of Escape from Tarkov:
- Infiltrate contested zones
- Complete objectives, secure resources
- Utilize operational ground assets
- Find a way to complete your mission and get out alive
It was said that Fragmentary Order will be designed for players seeking depth and realism. It utilizes advanced weapon behavior, complex health systems, large-scale maps, vehicles and expanded mobility, excessive weapon customization, and the use of cutting-edge technology.
The game’s neo-economic structure means that users will need to build relationships with corporations, lean on advanced technologies, and expand their personal infrastructure.
It’s all still reading very much like Escape from Tarkov in space at this point.
Fragmentary Order is rooted in the Cold War, after which the world was plunged into a global collapse, brought back from the brink by a mega-corporation that influenced rapid technological expansion and fuelled a space colonization effort.
The team at Rant Gaming revealed that the ARG found on the COR3 website is still of the utmost importance. It’s how users will get access to the earliest iterations of the game, proving their ‘readiness and right to be in the first row.’
To get access to Fragmentary Order, you’ll need to complete the following steps:
- Study the system: Dive into the hidden layers and extract classified lore fragments.
- Set the groundwork: Hoard resources, establish credit flows, and lock in exclusive assets before the masses flood in.
- Elevate your standing: Grind reputation and earn ranks. Your actions right now will shape the meta and forge your legacy.
