Oppo has finally outlined the camera hardware of its upcoming Oppo Find X9 Ultra flagship, positioning the device as a serious challenger to rivals like the iPhone 17 Pro and Samsung’s Galaxy S26 Ultra.
At the core of the Find X9 Ultra is an ambitious dual-200MP setup. The primary sensor, a 200MP Sony LYT-901 (1/1.12-inch), is paired with a wider f/1.5 aperture that reportedly improves light intake by over 10% compared to other phones with 1-inch primary sensors (like the Xiaomi 17 Ultra).
More notably, the Find X9 Ultra is going to introduce an “industry-first” 200MP 3x periscope camera using the OmniVision OV52A sensor, which measures 1/1.28-inches. For reference, this 3x zoom camera has a larger sensor than the main camera of the Galaxy S26 Ultra (it’s the same size as the primary shooter of the iPhone 17 Pro).
Oppo Find X9 Ultra camera specs now confirmed – the most powerful camera system on a phone?
According to Oppo, the full Oppo Find X9 Ultra camera specs are as follows:
- Primary camera: 200MP Sony LYT-901 (1/1.12-inch, f/1.5, 23 mm)
- 3x periscope zoom camera: 200MP OmniVision OV52A (1/1.28-inch, f/2.2, 70 mm)
- 10x periscope zoom camera: 50MP ISOCELL JNL (1/2.75-inch, f/3.5, 230 mm)
- Ultra-wide-angle camera: 50MP Sony LYT-600 (1/1.95-inch, f/2.0, 14 mm)
Perhaps the most anticipated new camera here is the 10x periscope, which is said to outperform older Samsung versions of this focal length by up to 230% in terms of light intake (that’s directly compared to the Galaxy S23 Ultra’s 10MP 10x zoom camera). Thanks to the higher 50MP resolution, Oppo’s 10x snapper will get in-sensor zoom for “lossless” shots at 20x.
Oppo also emphasized its Hasselblad-tuned imaging and optional teleconverter, promising additional “lossless zoom” at 40-50x magnification, which sounds absolutely wild not just for a phone but for any pocket camera sold today.
