A change is coming to how Microsoft rewards points for those who play on Xbox consoles. The Xbox website was recently updated to say that players will soon be able to spend their reward points directly on the console.
The new system will work simply. Like any other payment method, players can choose to use their reward points when checking out on the Xbox Marketplace.

“Spending your points has never been easier. On your console, simply choose something you want from the Store and use your points at checkout,” the website notes. The fine print notes that the points cannot be used to redeem subscriptions. It is not clear when this new benefit will be available.
Other Xbox Reward Opportunities
Xbox Game Pass subscribers earn up to four times the points. Those who subscribe to the premium tier earn double points, and those who subscribe to the ultimate tier earn quadruple the points when playing and shopping. Players who earn up to 5,000 points will receive a $5 Xbox gift card.
The website also encourages players to look into the Xbox Mastercard to earn rewards even faster. Those who have the card will receive Microsoft Rewards benefits at level 2.
Xbox Is Currently Vocal About Wanting to Rededicate to Loyal Players
Xbox is currently in the middle of a shake-up. Asha Sharma recently assumed the role of Xbox CEO following the retirement of Phil Spencer and Sarah Bond’s subsequent resignation. In her earliest interviews as CEO, Sharma has been outspoken about wanting to revitalize the brand and believing that begins with a commitment to the loyal Xbox audience.
More recently, Sharma has even suggested that the price of Game Pass has become too high for players. There’s even been talk of bundling Netflix with a Game Pass tier. Learn more about that at this link.
