Apple’s new flagship iPhone 18 Pro and companion models are expected to be unveiled this fall, following the same pattern the company has followed for years. Here’s when to expect the iPhone 18 Pro announcement, release date, and details on the lineup.
iPhone 18 Pro launch event expected in September, but with a catch

The iPhone is Apple’s most important product. It makes up the vast majority of the company’s earnings. And one way Apple keeps the iPhone business healthy is by launching new flagship models every year.
For many years now, those new iPhone models have launched in September—and all signs point to that happening again this year.
Here are the last three iPhone unveiling dates:
- 2025: Tuesday, September 9
- 2024: Monday, September 9
- 2023: Tuesday, September 12
As you can see, Apple’s schedule with iPhone announcements is very predictable. The company unveils its major new flagships around the second week of September.
One wrinkle in predicting this year’s date is that Labor Day will be unusually late, set for September 7.
Apple typically launches the iPhone the week after Labor Day, which might mean Monday, September 14.
An unveiling as early as Wednesday, September 9 is technically possible though. In 2022, Apple launched the new iPhone two days after Labor Day, and might do the same again.
In any case, early-to-mid September is when to expect the big iPhone 18 Pro reveal.
However, one key change expected this year is that the base iPhone 18 model won’t actually release until early 2027. Instead, Apple’s flagship September lineup is rumored to consist of:
A new iPhone Air is a possibility as well to round out the lineup, but reports are unclear on that front.
When to expect iPhone 18 Pro’s official release date

While the exact date of Apple’s iPhone event always varies slightly based on Labor Day, once the unveiling happens, Apple tends to ship its new models on a very consistent day: the Friday of the week following the event.
So if the iPhone 18 line is unveiled on Monday, September 14, we can expect pre-orders to open that Friday, September 18, with models shipping to users for arrival on Friday, September 25.
However, if the announcement happens on Wednesday, September 9, pre-orders would happen on September 11, and new models would arrive on Friday, September 18.
Looking at Apple’s history with recent iPhone launches confirms this pattern.
2025: iPhone 17
- Announced: Tuesday, September 9
- Pre-orders: Friday, September 12
- Release date: Friday, September 19
2024: iPhone 16
- Announced: Monday, September 9
- Pre-orders: Friday, September 13
- Release date: Friday, September 20
2023: iPhone 15
- Announced: Tuesday, September 12
- Pre-orders: Friday, September 15
- Release date: Friday, September 22
