Nintendo has announced a release date for its single-player focused action shooter, Splatoon Raiders.

As revealed with a new trailer, Splatoon Raiders will arrive on Switch 2 this summer, on 23rd July. This game will serve as a spin-off of the Splatoon series, with players taking on the role of a mechanic who embarks on a “high-stakes adventure” across the mysterious Spirhalite Islands with the Deep Cut trio of musicians Frye, Shiver and Big Man (according to Nintendo, they are “splat-tacular”).

Splatoon Raiders players will be able to customise their appearances and loadouts before setting out to search for treasure. “Using a variety of mechanical gadgets and ink-splattering weapons, splat scores of enemies called Salmonids, conquer raids and salvage loot on your journey through the one-of-a-kind Splatoon universe,” the blurb proclaims.

Nintendo is also releasing new amiibo for Splatoon Raiders’ debut. These amiibo will feature the Deep Cut band, and the bases of these three amiibo will fit together for “easy display”. The triple pack will be available to pre-order “soon”, and you can see how it looks below. As for the game, you can pre-order Splatoon Raider via the Nintendo eShop.
